Sustainable development:

"Sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (United Nations n.d.).

Understand Goal 15: Life on Land:

 

  the pillars of sustainability:

1. Social sustainability considers individuals to be a part of the world and its resources rather than a physical thing from them. They are motivated by the belief that both humans and nature have moral meaning and must be preserved as a result.

2. Environmental sustainability separates nature from the people. they believes Humans should have responsibility over the environment since they created it .

3. Economic sustainability recognizes the unsustainability of a customer culture that views limited resources as a source of income, It is also believed that a supply and demand mentality will lead to a natural crisis (Future learn n.b.)

 

Example of sustainable development practice: 

Green Spaces The foundation of sustainably built metropolitan areas is the presence of green spaces including parks, marshes, lakes, forests, and other eco systems. While trees create oxygen and filter out air pollution, these spaces are crucial for cooling cities. In addition to providing safer locations for exercise and pleasure, well-designed green spaces are essential for providing safer pathways for people who commute on foot or by bicycle.(SUMAS,2022).
